The Power of Having a Usual

Ordering the same thing every time isn't boring. It's a signal.

"The usual?" is one of the most loaded questions in hospitality.

It means: I see you. I've been paying attention. You matter enough here that I've kept track.

Most people have never been asked it. Not because they don't go to the same places — but because they've never made it easy to be remembered. They order something different every time, or they spend five minutes deliberating, or they always sit in a different spot with a different person and there's no thread to follow.

Having a usual is a gift to both parties.

For you: it removes a decision. You walk in, you sit down, the thing appears. You're already at ease.

For them: it's a shortcut to connection. They don't have to guess who you are. They have a fact about you — one small, reliable fact — and that's enough to build on.

The usual isn't about the drink. It's about the relationship.

TAOBAR lets you save your usual for every place you frequent. Not because you'll forget what you like — but because the moment someone else remembers it for you is the moment a place stops being a place and starts being yours.
